Americano

Despite the name it is a cocktail composed exclusively of Italian products.
The history of the Americano has origins in the second half of the 1800s inside the bar belonging to Gaspare Campari in Milano. Over the years the cocktail has acquired notoriety thanks to some tributes from the world of cinema, among these James Bond whose favourite cocktails were, in fact, the American and a variant of the Martini cocktail based on Vermouth chinato, dry gin and vodka.

Ingredients

• 3 cl bitter
• 3 cl red vermouth
• 3 cl soda
• half a slice of orange
• lemon

The recipe

Fill up a glass with ice and add the Campari bitter and vermouth. Add the soda and mix gently. Add a slice of lemon to the cocktail and decorate with a slice of orange.
